Last Weeks Event: The Beach Ball

Last Thursday The Office Shop attended the Beach Ball Event. The event was established 3 years ago to create awareness of women’s cancers. It was started by Bennett Design and has since been introduced to the entire design community.

This year the event was held at Sunny Side Beach, on the shores of Lake Ontario. This was my first year attending the event; however, I really enjoyed meeting some new people in the design community.

The event was run very well with lots of competitions, prizes and delicious food! One of the highlights was the sandcastle building competition right on the beach. There were approximately 8 teams attempting to build something using the teams architectural and design knowledge. All the sculptures were amazing but the Bennett design came in #1 with a seashell lounge. The Office Shop and Inscape didn’t place, however we sculptured a turtle. In three short years the Beach Ball has raised $80,000 dollars and hopefully even more money was raised this year! The Office Shop can’t wait to attend the Beach Ball next year!
